Type a city + a business type, get every matching business in the area as CRM contacts in 30 seconds. Powered by Google Places — phone, address, website, and category come back automatically.
Run a search
Open the Map view.
In the search box, type a location ("Salt Lake City, UT" or just "Utah").
In the category box, type what you're looking for ("toxicology labs", "DOT collection sites", "MROs", "occupational health clinics").
Click Search. Map zooms to the area, pins appear, and each result is auto-imported into your CRM as a contact with the Google Place ID as its key.
Use the results
Click a pin — opens the contact card with the import-ready data. Edit, tag, or assign an owner.
Focus list on last N — at the top of the map list, this pill scopes your CRM views (Leads, Dialer, Pipeline) to JUST the contacts from the last search. Click again to clear.
Send to Dialer — turns the focused list into a dialer queue with one click.
Tell Julie to do it
The fastest path: ask Julie. "Find toxicology labs in Utah and queue them up." She runs search_map, gets the results, and queues them in the Dialer in one turn.
Auto-import behavior: results are saved as contacts rows with source = 'google_places' and a place_id in custom fields. Re-searching the same area is idempotent — duplicate Place IDs update rather than create.
What if I want only the new pins on the map?
The map shows both your existing CRM contacts (filtered by lead type) AND new Google Places results. To temporarily hide your CRM contacts:
Ask Julie: "Hide all lead types except labs"
Or via UI: Category · click to toggle legend on the map, click the types you don't want.
